SWANA LAND OF LINCOLN CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The SWANA Land of Lincoln Chapter annually provides a scholarship to students enrolled in engineering, environmental science or related studies. Students eligible to be considered must have graduated from an Illinois high school or be a resident of Illinois.

Application packets are generally available in January, and all applications must be received by March 31. An application consists of a letter to the chapter and submission of the requested information outlined on the attachment. Applicants are rated equally on the following four items: (1) their letter to the chapter, (2) how their curriculum relates to the environmental field, (3) their grade point average (in applicable classes and overall), and (4) their involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Scholarship winners are selected by the Scholarship Committee in April and are nominated by the chapter for a national scholarship, sponsored by the Solid Waste Association of North America. Scholarship winners are also invited to attend our annual conference in June to receive their award.

This page will be updated to include the scholarship application packet for 2010 when available.
